As usual, the title of the post has nothing to do with the content. Rest assured this post is a good one nonetheless!
It is my first time wearing traditional wear on my blog! I've never been adverse to wearing "trad" (short for 'traditional wear' in Nigeria). I mean, as a strapping young lad in Lagos , trad is and will always be an inescapable part of our fashion . I shied away from it for a couple of valid reasons. The first being that I always felt I looked way too young when I wore a Kaftan. Like, no joke, i thought i looked 12! . As my birthday approaches ( its on the 13th of August, send me presents!) and my anxiety about aging heightens, Im embracing the youthful look I seem to have in trad much more. The second reason I have not worn that much trad is because its just so damn convenient! I mean, it's essentially a matching set, so all you have to do is pick out complimentary shoes and you're good to go. That sounds awesome right?! Well, in my case, because I'm more inclined to put together intricate outfits from a variety of styles, I couldn't get too comfortable with the simplicity involved in wearing a trad outfit . Knowing myself, I would probably wear it 24/7. Taking safety style precautions is always key!
ABOUT MY OUTFIT
Im wearing a nude, Kolisa ( IG: @Kolisaofficial) Kaftan with a contrast print hem. This fabric literally feels like angel kisses on our body. I like that Kolisa puts a modern twist on traditional menswear by infusing print in unique ways. They are definitely one of my favorites.
